ideEGE is an emerging R&D campus in the heart of Ege University, a large educational institution with more than 60,000 students and 3,000 faculty. The aim of this new campus is to enable an open innovation system that engages academia, industry, software developers, medical researchers and bio-tech engineers under one roof.
ATÖLYE Labs' focus in this project is to deliver a cross-disciplinary, systems-level approach to project development. Starting with a small interior design intervention at an existing building, the project evolved into the masterplan of 85,000 m2, the concept design and engineering of a 1,000 m2 container park, and the renovation and repurposing of two existing buildings (total of 12,000 m2) into hybrid, new generation work and lab facilities.
