Boğaziçi University North Campus Techno-park is an existing and actively used office building within the campus ecosystem. Settled within a renowned educational institution with more than 15,000 students and 900 faculty, the aim of this 1000 m2 building is to offer affordable work spaces for emerging startups and R&D branches of large establishments. While the building hosts more than 30 such entities, the key issue has been the lack of interaction amongst different tenants.
ATÖLYE Labs' focus in this project has been to create diverse and engaging interaction spaces with strategically-placed interventions within corridors, entrance area and the outdoor garden. The design process included engaging all stakeholders via workshops and an online survey, followed by global precedences research and a conceptual architectural design. Interventions range from custom-made flexible furniture, sensitively-placed coloring, an ecological lighting system and a multi-purpose outdoor workspace.
Scope: Ethnography, workshop facilitation, architectural concept design, landscape design
